Our clients wanted an oak drawerleaf table without any stretchers. In the absence of the reinforcing strength normally provided by stretchers, the hand finished square cut baluster legs have double mortises at their tops for the extra thick rails to tenon into. Note that the chairs, with their drop in upholstered seats, also have scaled down but matching square cut balusters. By close consultation with our clients we were able to determine precise measurements for seat and table height whilst maintaining optimum leg clearance between seat cushion and table rail. This particular table has simple mouldings to the rails and measures 72" x 34" when closed.

This Arts and Crafts style extending table is now featured on our sister site, Early Oak Reproductions, with size, colour, finish and price options (click on the underlined words to view).
