This photo shows the north side, with the oak tile battens nailed on, awaiting the reclaimed old clay peg tiles. As the entire roof can be seen from below and we wanted it to look authentic, each tile had to have two oak pegs individually fitted. With around 3,500 tiles, for this and the outshot roof, that amounts to some 7,000 pegs made .
