door, showing hand-carved panel and hand-forged iron work, typical
of the Medieval/Tudor period. Note the faint traces of setting-out
scribe marks for the carving (running horizontally just above the
lower hinge). Also note how the door has shrunk (over the centuries!!),
hence the larger gap on the right. Consequently, the lock bolt now
only goes half way through the hasp!
